Although athletes have known about the benefits of sports massage for some time, anyone can benefit from a treatment. This is a combination of deep tissue massage and stretching techniques. The aim of the treatment is to improve joint mobility, alleviate aches and pains and improve sports performance.
Also, work related stress, desk jobs, driving and manual work all contribute to muscle aches and pains, reduced mobility, increased risk of accidents and injuries, tiredness and a poorer quality of life.
Services available to treat your condition are outlined below:
An ancient chinese medical treatment. Using glass cups and a flame, the heated cups are placed quickly on bare skin. The flame causes the air to expand on the inside of the cup, creating a vacuum. This vacuum is thought to draw out impurities and balance the body's chi.
Patients have reported benefits that range from feelings of deep relaxation and pain relief to curing of the common cold. In its simplest form, it is a type of deep tissue massage that promotes stress relief and relaxation, but cupping has also been used effectively in the treatment of colds, asthma and musculoskeletal pain.
A typical treatment would include both fire cupping and sports massage, this really does give a deep massage and is especially suitable for very tight/stiff aching muscles. Some discolouration of the skin can occur after treatment but this will disappear quite quickly.
Sports Massage can be used to relieve all sorts of conditions, not just sports-related problems. It is suitable for everyone from child to the elderly, treatments are tailored to the individual. Benefits include relief from back pain, stress, tension, tired, aching muscles, stiff neck and shoulders and sports injuries. Regular treatment prevents injuries and improves performance.
